I already have health insurance. Why do I need Cancer-Only Critical Illness Insurance?
Your health insurance may cover some of your medical costs, but there are often out-of-pocket expenses, in addition to a loss of income, if treatment is required. You can use your critical illness benefits to pay for deductibles, co-pays, out-of-network providers, travel expenses, treatment costs, childcare or however you choose.
Is a medical exam required to apply for coverage?
No, a medical exam is not required. Applying for coverage is quick and easy. When filling out the application, you will answer a few questions about your medical history.
Does Cancer-Only Critical Illness Insurance reimburse for incurred medical costs?
The payment you receive is not based upon actual treatment expenses or to reimburse your incurred costs. Instead, based on your specific diagnosis, you are covered for the benefits you selected when applying for coverage.
When can I submit a claim for benefit payment under my Critical Illness coverage?
The first diagnosis of cancer must be made at least 30 days after your policy’s effective date. After that period, you can submit claims for covered benefits. Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Does payment go to me or the health care provider?
Your benefit is paid directly to you, so you can use the lump-sum payment to help cover whatever expenses you choose.
Does my coverage expire?
No, your coverage does not expire due to age. Benefits are available for your entire lifetime or until all benefits have been used. When an insured reaches age 70, the benefit amount in force will be reduced by 50%.
